Não foi uma grande final longe disso mas foi a final onde vi uma miúda de 19 anos a jogar o  ténis mais  simples , eficaz e elegante dos últimos 20 anos no quadro feminino .
Bom primeiro serviço (falta alguma potência no segundo mas raramente precisa dele eeheh), rainha dos amorties, joga 80% ofensivo e sem muita força mas bolas bem colocadas e uma excelente esquerda paralela, para mim  a pancada mais desiquilibrante do ténis ....estou curioso para ver daqui para frente o mental dela depois destas 2 semanas .
Uma miúda que acaba um grande slam sem ceder um set e sem perder mais de 5 jogos em qualquer dos 7 jogos disputados, não treme nos momentos mais importantes é realmente brilhante para miúda de 19 anos que ainda não sabia se queria continuar com profissional do ténis ou continuar a estudar
Duas das minhas jogadoras favoritas pela força mental foram quase humilhadas por ela Halep e esta Kenin na final .

Nadal is a 22-time Grand Slam champion

Rafael Nadal has confirmed he will return to competitive tennis at the Brisbane International after almost a year out with injury.

The former world number one, 37, has been out of action since injuring his hip flexor in a second-round defeat at January's Australian Open.

He has previously said he plans to retire at the end of the 2024 season.

"After a year away from competition, it's time to come back," the Spaniard said in a video posted on social media.

"It will be in Brisbane, the first week of January. I'll see you there."

The Brisbane International will help Nadal prepare for the Australian Open - the first major of the year - which Nadal won in 2009 and 2022.

Last month, Australian Open chief Craig Tiley said Nadal would be participating in the tournament, although the player is yet to confirm this.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion has been sidelined since his defeat by Mackenzie McDonald in Melbourne and underwent surgery in June.

When he announced he would miss the French Open for the first time in 19 years - the tournament where he has won 14 of his majors - Nadal said 2024 will "probably" be the last year of his career.

At the time Nadal was joint with Serbia's Novak Djokovic for the joint record number of men's major triumphs, but Djokovic has since won the French Open and US Open to move to 24 Grand Slam titles.

Nadal has dropped to number 633 in the world rankings but he is still eligible for a protected ranking having been injured and not competing in any event for at least six months.

The Brisbane International is returning after a three-year hiatus forced by the Covid-19 pandemic and will take place between 31 December and 7 January.

World number one Novak Djokovic believes Rafael Nadal will be competitive at next month's Australian Open, despite his injury absence.

The Spaniard, 37, a 22-time Grand Slam winner, is set to make his comeback in Brisbane this weekend ahead of the first tennis major of the year.

His last match was a second-round loss to American Mackenzie McDonald at the Australian Open in January.

The 2024 edition of that tournament begins on 14 January in Melbourne.

"I always expect him [Nadal] to play at his best, to be honest," said Djokovic, 36, who won three Grand Slams in 2023 to reach a record 24 for his career and overtake Nadal.

"Many times they've signed him out, they've done that with me as well. But we've proved them wrong.

"He's not a kind of a player that will come back to the tour just to play - let's say - on a medium level, play a few matches.

"He wants to win titles, he wants to be the best, that's why he is who he is: a legend of our sport. I'm sure that his training and preparation is done with an intention to win a Grand Slam."

Nadal has said that 2024 is likely to be his final season on tour, after needing surgery on a hip injury and slipping down to 670th in the world rankings.

He won the Australian Open in 2009 and 2022 and is a record 14-time champion at the French Open.

World number two Carlos Alcaraz, who played Djokovic in an exhibition match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, also believes his compatriot is ready for action.

"I saw some videos of him practising, he's 100%," said 20-year-old Alcaraz.

"I hear from other players that they practised with Rafa in these past weeks and they said that he's going to return to his good level. His top level.

"I think he's ready for great things this year as well."»
